“Color is very powerful. When you wear the correct colors, it can draw people to you and create interest or at its worse cause you to appear ill and create disinterest. Knowing your best colors will help you shop more effectively. You won't waste money on fabric wondering why you just don't like what you made. Finally, knowing your colors is a confidence booster. When you feel great about your appearance, you can go out into the world and be everything God created you to be” - Roz, Owner of Sew Much Fabric

Let’s start at the beginning before I share my personal color analysis. If you are new to me talking about my colors and my style aesthetic, go check out this video series HERE. I’ve been talking about my style since 2018 and having my colors done are the last piece of the puzzle that I talked about in my previous style aesthetic videos on Youtube. I began attending the Sewing Fashionista Meetups that are hosted by Roz, the owner of Sew Much Fabric in 2017. In the 1st quarter of 2018 Roz began a series of classes that focused us on finding our style aesthetic. After we had our homework assignment and went off to do our research on looks we like and enjoy, we came back to class to share what we learned about ourselves. Also, as part of those series of classes Roz graciously had a Professional Color Analyst come in to do everyone’s colors; however, sadly I missed that class so there was always a piece of the over all puzzle that was missing for me. Fast forward to April 2021 and I finally had my professional colors done. For me, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Between those classes in 2018 and 2021 I learned quite a bit about personal fit, various style lines I like and more about the aesthetic I wanted to embark on. I feel that I’ve come to a good place in my sewing journey now to go beyond just sewing to sew but creating pieces that accentuate not just my figure but bring out my character. You see, I’ve come to a place in my life where it’s not just about sewing clothes in my color palette, it’s so much more. God has given me gifts and talents that are to be used to serve others and I want to be the best representation of those gifts and talents through the power of color.

My professional colors were done by the wonderful Victoria Baylor, Victoria is a Certified Mindset & Business Clarity Coach, she’s a speaker, has done TEDx, a #1 Amazon Best Selling Author and so much more.  She has been an image professional and Business owner for over 14yrs.  I come to know Victoria through sewing and you’ll hear all about that in the video video below.  I knew Victoria was the PERFECT person to reach out to because I know her and I knew her work in sewing and as a business coach because we’ve worked together in my other business. I hope you enjoy series below.
